When you are at the beginning of a new journey it can seem a little overwhelming. Maybe you have tried to get fit and healthy before and failed? The truth is fitness, health, and wellbeing all start in the MIND. Our biggest obstacles are our own preconceived ideas, our own self-talk, and our own prejudices. Joseph Pilates insightfully said, “it is the mind that shapes the body”.
So how to start the process?
First of all close your eyes and go inside of your body
Your brains ability to SEE the inside of your body is calledinteroception. Have a little look around – how do you feel?
Your neck – your spine – your muscles – your digestion. How do you FEEL? assess.
Determine what you would like to achieve. Maybe get a small notebook and keep a journal of your desires – your goals – your progress. Think one month from now – two months – six months…….. Where do you want to be? What does you body say? What does your mind say? What does your heart say? Then with your eyes still closed can you locate your right big toe? Your left elbow? The back of your skull?
This is called PROPRIOCEPTION.
Your brains ability to find your body externally in space without looking with you physical eyes. As you make this journey with me your Interoception and your proprioception will hugely increase.
I call this your BRAIN MAP.
As you train your MAP will become more focused. It will begin to find new countries, and restore a few old ones………long lost muscles and reconnect with them. As the map grows you begin to navigate through it more quickly and more freely. YOUR WORLD – your BODY. You begin to feel better – move differently and more freely. You remember that you are a Spirit with a Soul housed in a BODY. There are different words for that feeling Centred – Grounded – Integrity – Wholeness.
Along with this you will begin to address all the things you didn’t like about how you felt in your initial assessments. Your sense of wellbeing will improve. And lastly the outside will begin to change shape. We humans focus on the outside when we should always start in our minds. How do we begin? We take small steps and each one takes us forwards. So start here now with your six free sessions. Do one a day for a week then do them back to back and work for an hour. Once you have made those steps I hope that you will want to take the next one and try my many videos. Maybe start with one a week and soon you may want to do more than that. The Classes have different focuses so you could easily do three in a week and not feel you are over training. Soon you will FEEL the difference and eventually SEE the difference.
